ALVer — Meetings & Voting

ALVer runs your cooperative's general assembly meetings — pre-registration, mandates, live voting, and a permanent decision archive — without relying on Big Tech infrastructure.

Signing in

Like the rest of the ecosystem, ALVer uses W3DS ePassport (the eID wallet app) — no separate password, no account creation.

Before the meeting

When a meeting is announced, members get a link with three choices:

  • I'll come — registers your intention to attend.
  • I can't make it, give a mandate — pick another member to vote on your behalf, for the whole meeting or specific items.
  • I can't make it — lets the facilitator know, no mandate needed.

Choices can be changed any time before the meeting starts.

Checking in

At the venue, scan the QR code shown on the meeting's display screen with your phone camera — no app needed beyond the eID wallet. If you don't have your phone, the facilitator can check you in manually, at any point during the session.

Voting during the meeting

When a poll opens, it appears automatically on every checked-in member's phone. Tap a choice, confirm, and watch a live progress bar as votes come in. When the poll closes, the result (Adopted / Rejected) shows immediately to everyone.

If you're holding a mandate for someone else, you cast two votes — your own and theirs — the app guides you through both. Aspirant members can follow the meeting but can't vote.

After the meeting

Once the facilitator closes the meeting, a permanent archive becomes available: who attended, every decision with its vote counts, and when each poll closed. Reachable from the same meeting link, any time.

Running a meeting (facilitators)

  • Announce a meeting — name, date, time, location, and agenda.
  • Open the session and put the display screen (QR code + live attendance) on a projector or TV.
  • Manage attendance — check people in without their phone, record mandates on the spot, remove mistaken entries. Eligible-voter count updates live.
  • Run polls — write a motion, set vote options (For/Against/Abstain by default, customizable), start one live poll at a time, close it when enough members have voted. Multiple polls can be prepared in advance. A vote can also be entered manually for someone without a phone.
  • Close the meeting to finalize the archive, or reopen it if needed.

Multiple cooperatives, one installation

A single ALVer instance can host several cooperatives ("communities"), each with its own members, meetings, and branding — people only ever see the community they belong to.

Privacy & data

Meetings, votes, and members are stored in your cooperative's own sovereign eVault (see What is W3DS?), not on a centralized platform. Identity is verified through the eID wallet — no passwords, no accounts to manage.
