Meshenger — Chat, Calls & Calendar

Not an eCommons app

Meshenger is a third-party messenger, not built by eCommons. It's included here because it speaks W3DS, so it plugs into the same identity and data layer as CORE, ALVer, and the rest.

Meshenger covers the everyday communication a community needs: group and direct chat, voice/video calls, and a shared calendar.

Chats sync automatically

Every workgroup in CORE has its own chat. Because that chat lives in W3DS, not inside CORE, it's not tied to any single app — join a workgroup, and its chat automatically appears in Meshenger (or any other W3DS-compatible chat app you use instead). No inviting, no manually adding people — membership in CORE is the source of truth, and every connected app just follows it.

Calendar

Meshenger also surfaces a community's shared calendar, pulling in events from across the ecosystem:

  • General assemblies from ALVer
  • Social events
  • Individual workgroup meetings

Same principle as chat: the calendar isn't owned by Meshenger — it's synced in from wherever the event actually lives, so it stays current without anyone re-entering it by hand.
